A couple months ago, Ryan and I had a long discussion about the future of our business. Really, we had a long talk about our lives, and the paths we see ourselves travelling down. I have a passion for our business. I truly love what I do. It took me a long time to get here, to this point where I can say with absolute certainty that I am doing what I feel like I was meant to do. Bring on the cheese for sure, but it’s true! I love every single one of the couples that we have worked with, and feel blessed to have been trusted to manage one of the most important days in their lives.
Sometimes I can’t get over the nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach that we’ve boxed ourselves in and shut out so many other awesome potential couples to work with. Weddings are expensive. They are time consuming. They are stressful. That is why people like us exist. We take on a lot of the stresses for you, so you can just think about that awesome day to celebrate your love with your family and friends.
I wanted to find a way to help couples who don’t have a $4000 budget to manage the planning process. I believe in the very center of my being that everyone deserves to have a beautiful and perfect day, no matter what that may mean to them. I no longer care how other professionals, who are in our price point, view me for offering an option with the same level of quality service, at a much lower price point. This isn’t about them. This is about me, and what I believe in.
Maybe I’m crazy. It’s possible. But we’re going to try this anyway.
So here we are, to the point (finally!), and the new service we are offering. I wanted to come up with a clever name, but right now, during this trial period, we are simply calling it “Virtual Planning“. Virtual Planning will offer you all of the benefits of having a real person (an actual wedding planner) helping you to plan your wedding, but at a small fraction of the cost. The difference is that you won’t have this planner there on the day of your wedding (which I still highly recommend, if you have the budget for it) to manage the timeline and ensure things run smoothly. This is an excellent option for those of you who have someone you can trust to manage your list that we have prepared for you. We can even work with your venue coordinator to ensure everything is covered. This planning process is different from the other “online planning” platforms because you can actually ask for help, referrals, and bounce ideas off someone who knows the industry and can work within the vision of your wedding day. You will get a complete and comprehensive timeline of events for your wedding weekend, that has been confirmed with all of the professionals you will hire.
I say we are in a trial period, because in all transparency, I’m still figuring out some of the details. I know the amount of time it takes to plan a wedding. I know all of the processes that are needed. I also know that I am human, and there will be a transition period where my mind needs to learn how to cope with not being there in person to deliver your most amazing day. I will probably go above and beyond what is necessary, and my organization skills (OCD) will definitely be in high gear. There will be checklists for checklists because I won’t want anyone to miss anything. My promise to you while working together: I will do everything in my power to make planning your wedding stress free and fun.
